Celebrating the Power of Partnerships- A Message from NW Works’ CEO

Dear NW Works Community,

As we continue to work to support the individuals we serve through maximizing independence and our mission of empowerment through employment, I wanted to take a moment to celebrate the incredible impact we are making together.

From local businesses that provide opportunities for work, experiences, and financial support to dedicated donors and passionate community members, we're grateful for the support and collaboration that enables us to achieve our mission. Our partnership with Axalta in Front Royal is just one example of how our community is joining us to provide empowerment through employment and personal growth for the individuals we serve.

Krystal, a Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist at NW Works, has seen firsthand the impact that our partnerships can have. She works with the team at Axalta to provide meaningful employment opportunities for our clients and has witnessed the growth and confidence that comes with it. Krystal shared a moment regarding Aaron, a participant who has grown more confident and social thanks to the support he receives at NW Works and the opportunity to work at Axalta as part of a team. We are thrilled to see him thriving!

Our partnership with Axalta provides our clients with meaningful employment opportunities that foster new relationships and a sense of belonging. The Axalta team has treated the people we serve with respect, kindness and as productive members of the team.  Axalta is one of more than 50 businesses providing supportive employment in our community in partnership with NW Works. Together, we provide opportunities for adults with disabilities and others with barriers to employment on their journey to maximize their independence.

We are grateful to our donors, community supporters and volunteers who, along with business leaders and agencies in the community like Axalta, the Department of Aging and Rehabilitation Services (DARS) and the Community Services Board (CSB), make it possible for us to provide these services.

As we continue to expand our reach in the Northern Shenandoah Valley and our communities impact together, we invite you to join us in our mission to empower individuals through employment. Here are Five Ways you can get involved:

 1.       Hire adults with disabilities and others with barriers to employment.

2.       Spread the word about our mission and the difference we are making together.

3.       Serve as a job assessment site.

4.       Make a donation to help us continue our work.

5.       Share your own story of empowerment and how it has impacted your life.

Thank you for your ongoing support and commitment to our mission. You are making a difference in the lives of individuals like Aaron.  With your support, we will continue to have meaningful impact on individual lives, families and our community.

Sincerely,

Grady W (Skip) Philips, III
